POSITION DETAILS

JOB PURPOSE

Chefs are professionals trained in all aspects of food preparation. Their main responsibilities include planning menus, overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring that the food meets high quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high quality dishes especially local dishes

  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like pans, knives and kitchen scales.

  • Should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner.

  • Manage kitchen stocks.

  • Be familiar with sanitation regulations.

  • To work in a hygienic manner at all times, ensuring that all food is prepared in a safe environment.

  • Complete food preparation duties as required.

  • Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Monthly Salary

  • Working Hours – 45 plus hours a week

  • Working Days – Monday – Saturday

  • Contract 2 years and renewable

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant academic transcripts/documents in food management/catering.

  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
